Terra-Lynn Young is a Canadian author, storyteller, and creative designer whose books celebrate faith, kindness, community, and the extraordinary beauty found in ordinary moments. Terra-Lynn’s background in education, along with additional studies in Christian counselling and pastoral care, has profoundly shaped her work. These experiences bring compassion, authenticity and a faith-centred understanding to stories that nurture curiosity, encourage meaningful conversations and remind readers that every person has value and purpose.
Originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, Terra-Lynn now lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick—affectionately known as The Ville—where much of her creative inspiration is found. The community, its people, and the simple moments of everyday life have become the heart of many of her stories.
Terra-Lynn is the author of nine published books, including children’s picture books, inspirational works, hockey-inspired stories, and the beloved Tales of The Ville collection. Her writing reflects a lifelong love of storytelling and a desire to create books that families will return to again and again.
Every book begins with Terra-Lynn’s own ideas, words, and artistic direction. Her creative work is brought to life through modern technology, giving her the extraordinary privilege of shaping the world she imagines and sharing it with readers across the globe. From the first concept of a character to the final page layout, every creative decision is guided by Terra-Lynn’s own ideas, words and artistic vision.
Her Christian faith is woven gently throughout her work, offering messages of grace, hope, compassion, and belonging without losing sight of the joy and wonder found in everyday experiences.
When she isn’t writing or designing, Terra-Lynn enjoys quiet mornings with her Bible and a cup of tea, exploring nature, spending time with her husband Matthew and their son Cole, and finding inspiration in the ordinary moments that often become extraordinary stories.
Above all, Terra-Lynn hopes her books leave readers feeling encouraged, reminded that they are deeply loved, and inspired to notice the quiet beauty that surrounds them every day.
