Terra-Lynn Young is a Canadian Christian author, educator, youth advocate, and storyteller whose work celebrates belonging, kindness, and faith in the small, everyday moments that shape us. Based in (The Ville), Fredericton, New Brunswick, she has spent more than thirty years working in education with children of all abilities—experiences that continue to guide and inspire her creative vision. Her creative work now also includes songwriting, with five newly released songs that reflect the same faith, tenderness, and honesty found in her stories.
Her approach to storytelling blends handcrafted imagination with modern digital tools, using AI as a collaborative medium to visualize atmosphere, emotion, and gentle storybook realism. Guided by artistic intent, Terra-Lynn treats technology as an extension of creativity—something that enhances, but never replaces, the heart and humanity of her stories.
Designing each piece herself—from first spark to finished publication—she ensures that every story carries the same authenticity, compassion, and attentiveness that define her work with children. Her writing has found a growing audience among readers seeking comfort, connection, encouragement, and hope.
Terra-Lynn shares her work through educational settings, online social media platforms, community programs, and her creative imprint, Grace & Light Publishing, which continues to expand with her picture book “I Miss My EA” and her inclusive story collections Tales of Olivia and Tales of The Ville.
Although Newfoundland holds her roots and the memories of her cherished grandparents — Edna and Myles Hanlon & Elise and Phillip Walker — The Ville in Fredericton has become the place where her heart found home. Newfoundland gave her a foundation built on faith, family, and resilience. Her grandparents, both deeply devoted Christians, shaped her understanding of love, kindness, and the importance of walking closely with God. Their influence remains a guiding light in her life, and their legacy continues through every story she writes.
The Ville is where she met her husband, Matthew, raised their son, Cole, and built a life surrounded by community and nature. She has always believed God placed Matthew in her life—a man shaped by a strong Christian heritage. Their stories came together with a quiet grace.
Her inspiration often rises in the peaceful mornings—when she pauses by the window, opens her devotionals, enjoying her cup of tea, and letting God steady her spirit. She carries her grandparents’ faith with her like a gentle inheritance, weaving it into stories that offer children hope, comfort, and the reassuring truth that they are never alone.
Pastoral Care & Continuing Formation
Terra-Lynn has completed pastoral care training through Christian Leaders Institute, equipping her with tools for compassionate listening, healthy boundaries, family awareness, and peace-focused support.
