This morning I found myself sitting quietly, thinking about what people are truly searching for in this world. Not the noisy things… not the busy things… but the deep, heart-longing things. And more and more, I see that what people are looking for is simple: kindness.
Our world has changed so much.
Faster than our hearts can sometimes keep up with.
But beneath all the noise and rushing, there is a tiredness in people — a longing for gentleness, for goodness, for something that reminds them that God’s intention for us was always love.
Some days it feels like kindness has become rare.
People second-guess motives.
They worry about being used, being taken advantage of, being misunderstood.
So many walk cautiously, guarding their hearts because the world doesn’t feel as soft as it once was.
But here is what the Lord keeps showing me:
Kindness still has power.
Kindness still moves hearts.
And kindness still brings people home to each other.
For me, giving fills my soul.
It fills my bucket in a way nothing else does.
When I can lift someone’s spirit — even for a few minutes through a little story, a gentle scene, or a reminder that goodness still exists — that is when I feel closest to the purpose God placed inside me.
Because each time I offer kindness, I feel the whisper of His presence.
A reminder that light doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful.
A reminder that even one small act can shift someone’s whole day.
I don’t know if the world will ever return to what it once was.
Maybe it’s not supposed to.
Maybe God is calling each of us — in our own quiet corners — to be a flicker of His love in a world that has forgotten how much it needs Him.
So today, I encourage you to reflect:
What fills your bucket?
What stirs your spirit?
Where is God nudging you to sow kindness?
Because when we give from a place of love — not for praise, not for anything in return, but simply because it is good — we become part of God’s healing in a weary world.
And the world needs that now more than ever.
Warmly,
